Crypto currency startup, Coinbase declares Q1 profits of $730-$800 million ahead of its potential blockbuster IPO. The company also plans to open a center in Hyderabad, even though crypto currencies are banned in India.
The Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) is set to commence its offshore operations at the International Financial Services Center at GIFT City in Gandhinagar.
Yahoo Answers will be shut down effective 4th May. Once a very popular site, it lost out to sites like Reddit, Quora, etc. The content will not be archived.
After canceling the Google I/O event last year, Google will be conducting an entirely virtual event this year from 18 - 20 May. The entire event is free for everyone to register and attend.

Amazon India has provided some rare insights into its business.
Exports touched $2 billion last year
300,000 new direct and indirect jobs across IT, logistics and various other sectors last year (I suspect the majority of jobs will be low skilled)
Digitized 2.5 million Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) till date
50,000 kiranas have been designated as Amazon ‘Local Shops’.
Though the numbers are huge, a detailed breakdown that will provide more insights has not been made available.
Google Vs. Oracle - The Final verdict
In a landmark judgement, the Supreme Court of USA delivered a 6-2 verdict in favour of Google in the Java copy-right infringement case bought by Oracle.
Oracle contended that Google copied over 12,000 lines of code from Java interfaces to create Android and sued the later for $9 billion. Remember, Java was originally developed by Sun Microsystems which was acquired by Oracle. Google argued that the use of code falls under ‘fair use’ policy.
Facebook data leak.
Some 533 million Facebook account information have been leaked. The leaked data include Facebook IDs, emails, name, phone numbers, locations, etc.
As per Facebook, the breach happened sometime in August 2019 due to flaw in the contact importing process and has been fixed since then. Around 6 millions accounts are from India.
