Welcome again to another small edition of the newsletter. We directly dive in to see some bits,
If your citizens are starving, do not have anything to export and none to help, you would turn to stealing money from other countries. North Korean cyberattackers may have stolen $400 million worth of cryptocurrencies last year, as per a CNN report.
Over 70 Ukrainian government websites were subjected to cyberattacks and were down over the weekend. Though Ukraine has said that it has evidence that the attack may have been coordinated by Russia, but some others say that the attack may have been frontended by Belarus, a key Russian ally.

Russia’s FSB with the help of information provided by US, has arrested the members of REvil ransomware gang, who hacked ransomed companies (US companies in particular) across the globe. the REvil ransomware gang does not operate anymore.
The FSB has recovered cash worth 4 milion pounds, crypto currencies worth around half a million and some luxury cars. Russia will not extradite to US those members of the gang who are Russian citizens.
Burdened with production and sofware glitches and Ola has notified cutomers that it is pushing the delivery of S1 electric scooters to late 2022. It definitely seems like Ola was over ambitious about its delivery date and may have been pressured by its investors.
When every tech company is into crypto, NFT and metaverse, how can Walmart keep itself out? As per US trademark filings, the US retailer and wanna be tech giant is quietly making its presence in metaverse and building its own cryptocurrency and NFT tokens.
Top Map Softwares
Just like others, I always thought Google Maps is the best map solution and to many it is the only mapping software. We were ALL WRONG.
According to Counterpoint research, HERE is the best mapping sofwatre available, Google Maps is the second followed by TomTom. Also, there are lots of local mapping softwares such as Baidu (China), Naver (South Korea) and MapMyIndia (#10 on Counterpoint’s research).
There is no money selling maps to consumers, but tons to make while selling to businesses. For example, the map displayed when you check your food delivery or when you wait for a cab is an example of where Google Maps or similar make money.
While Google Maps is the most recognizable application in the consumer space, HERE location platform is the leader when it comes to business solutions such as automated driving, fleet management, supply chain, etc.
Hope this edition was informative. Till the next edition Stay Home, Stay Healthy.
Best,
